Description

The Department of Anesthesiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is recruiting a candidate to the position of Assistant Professor-in-Residence. General requirements for all faculty positions include clinical skills, didactic skills, and possession or eligibility for a California Medical License. Please note that appointment to the In-Residence series requires evidence of research productivity or a trajectory to research productivity, scholarship, and an enthusiasm for discovery.

The successful candidate will have a MD, and preferably a MD-PhD, and a strong commitment to academic anesthesiology, research, and evidence of scholarship. The Department seeks candidates with a research background and interest in the genomics of cardiovascular disease and bioinformatics. The successful candidate will have a commitment to collaborative and independent research and a commitment to a path towards independent extramural funding. The Department provides resources to support the academic endeavor of early career physician-scientists and encourage those with research interests that contribute to diversity and equal opportunity.

In addition to participation in research and scholarly endeavors that will lead to academic promotion, duties include patient care and teaching of fellows and residents. The candidate must be eligible to work in the United States and licensed (or licensable) to practice medicine in California. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
