DescriptionJob Purpose: Responsible for building relationships between IT andacademic and business offices across campus, increasing the value realized fromIT assets, investments, and capabilities. Responsible for understanding thebusiness, assisting in the prioritization of projects, ensuring that projectsalign with technology that provides maximum return on investment, and leadingIT strategy to support overall business strategy. Serve as liaison and trustedadvisor between IT and business units. As such, the BRM needs to havesignificant knowledge in subject matters pertaining to both IT and thebusiness, and must possess a thorough understanding of the business to identifyneeds and create business solutions. Major Responsibilities: Collaborate with and act as a trusted advisor to leadership to align technology solutions with business and IT strategic plan/roadmap Work with leadership to plan new initiatives, evaluate proposals, develop and maintain multiyear IT business capability road maps Partner with project and portfolio management to ensure a healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio Focus on IT business value and optimization rather than solutions to develop ideas, including digital awareness, risk assessments, business continuity, financial awareness and business capability requirements. Stay well-informed of new technologies, industry trends and digital advances as they relate to new opportunities and campus IT business needs Participate in the IT annual budgeting and planning process for the assigned business units, and tracks IT spend Develop and manage the relationship between IT and business units across campus Drive Service Level Agreement (SLA) negotiations to enhance value to business units Ensure that the functional requirements are fully met by the solution Recognize, develop, communicate complex business requirements, innovation and awareness programs providing concise message to stakeholders Perform other related duties as assigned Basic Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, finance, or IT-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Work Experience: Four to five years job-related experience Certifications: N/A Skills: This job requires proven experience in IT, the ability to exercise independent judgement and to take action. Facilitate the development and implementation of business initiatives based on management objectives. Aptitude to listen, build rapport, and credibility as a strategic partner vertically within the business unit, as well as with leadership and functional teams. Ability to map joint organizational vision and long-term thinking, imagination, and idea generation. Demonstrated project management skills, including project planning, budgeting, and controlling processes, and valuing IT investments.
