DescriptionJob Purpose: Lead the business relationships between the Institute unitsand IT provide highly-valued strategic consulting and guidance throughoutbusiness-IT initiative. Facilitate and serve as a lead for planning andexecution of initiatives to enable the units to achieve objectives through theeffective use of technology. Work closely with Leadership on intangible issuesacross organizational and business-entity boundaries. Share knowledge oftechnology risks and opportunities to direct and improve the efficiency andeffectiveness of the Institute.

 Major Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of relationship capabilities framework with Institute stakeholders; including the creation of policies, procedures, and methodologies
  • Lead strategic planning efforts for short and long-term technology road maps based on anticipated changes to business unit operations; Prioritize IT initiatives based on need, strategy, IT workload and budget
  • Oversee the direction of Business Relationship Managers, serving as a single point of contact for the business unit(s), ensuring delivery of IT solutions, that needs are met, and value is realized
  • Direct requests, inquiries, triages, initiative priorities, consolidate business cases, represent unit interests and strategic planning to senior IT leadership; Participate and contribute to business unit and IT leadership meetings
  • Advocate for business units' needs and required results; Ensure IT units are aware of key business issues and potential changes in strategy. Counsel leadership on options, risks, cost vs. benefits, and associated impacts on end-user products, services and related business processes
  • Oversee development and monitoring of service level agreements, driving efficiency and identifying opportunity for innovation, and creation of best practices; Lead and manage stakeholder expectations of urgent issues caused by unplanned disruptions; Analyze critical scenarios and high level planning to determine business-IT strategy and resolution
  • Ensure IT solutions support the Institutes short and long-term business goals and alignment with business-IT strategy; Lead and direct planning efforts of de-centralized teams to find innovative solutions that provide value to the Institute
  • Analyze technology trends to determine impact to the business units and business-IT strategy, recommending solutions to both business and IT units that drive value and desired results for the Institute; Maintain strong knowledge of technology landscape related to vendor roadmap and IT landscapes
  • Assist in strategy development and framework for process improvement opportunities that continuously modernize business relationship for the Institute
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, finance, or IT-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Work Experience: Ten years of job-related experience

  • Skills: Requires proven leadership experience in IT, the ability to exercise independent judgement and to take action on it. Leads the facilitation of the development and implementation of business initiatives based on management objectives. Aptitude to communicate clearly, negotiate, listen, mitigate conflict, build rapport, alliances and credibility as a strategic partner vertically within the business unit, as well as with leadership and functional teams. Ability to map joint organizational vision and long-term thinking, imagination, and idea generation. Demonstrated project management skills, including project planning, budgeting, and controlling processes, and valuing IT investments.

    Impact & Influence: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: The Senior Director IT Governance and Strategy, IT senior leadership, faculty, staff, academic and business offices across campus, contractors and consultants. This position typically will advise and counsel: Management, user department heads and other external stakeholders. This position will supervise: assigned staff
