Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Publisher to generate marketing/advertising templates and forms. Ability to learn or have experience in computer programming such as JavaScript in Adobe Acrobat software.

Position Summary

The Research and Development Coordinator will support the Director in coordinating and managing the proposed expansion of the PDRC Diagnostic Lab’s Bacterial Growth Media Laboratory as well as future lab development projects. The incumbent will manage multiple, simultaneous projects involving marketing, networking, client management, developing ordering platforms, inventory management, media making, invoicing, and generating sales reports. Being the first point of contact for the Media Laboratory and any future endeavors, the R&D Coordinator must be able to deliver introductory presentations to prospective clients and inquirers.

Ability to network and establish relationships with prospective clients, work and think independently without supervision, create and review technical SOPS, prioritize workload, pay attention to detail, and multi-task.

Some lifting (up to 30 lbs). May involve long periods of standing, sitting, reading and repetitive actions.

Be a point of contact for all incoming media orders. Manage media lab inventory. Make all media orders according to clients’ specifications and schedule. Manage client relationships.

Percentage of time30 Duties/Responsibilities


Work with Director to develop and deploy the marketing strategies across relevant UGA Departments and industry. Network independently on behalf of the Media Lab and other laboratory sections, and market the services to potential and current clientele via traditional and digital marketing means. As needed, provide basic business introductory presentations.

Percentage of time25 Duties/Responsibilities


Work with PDRC’s Lab Technician and Quality Control Associate to author SOPs related to media compositions. Work with PDRC’s Lab Technician and Quality Control Associate to develop and implement QA/QC check points. Apply these same responsibilities/duties to future lab-business related opportunities. Improve ordering system by using JavaScript to conditionally format pdf documents.

Percentage of time10 Duties/Responsibilities


Provide customer service to domestic and international clients as well as faculty and staff. Perform accessioning of samples, data entry, reporting and filing of results and case review. Develop new methods to optimize accessioning process, streamline workflow, and increase productivity.

Percentage of time30 Duties/Responsibilities


Invoice and bill all media orders. Keep track of all orders and financials. Generate quarterly sales reports and financial statements for Director.
