Description:

The Asian American Studies Program at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of full-time Lecturer in the Social Sciences, beginning Fall 2020. The appointment will be for an initial year with the possibility of annual renewal for an additional two years, contingent upon a satisfactory performance review and approval of the Dean. The course load will be two courses each semester (Fall and Spring).

Applicants should hold a PhD, and applicants from any social science discipline are welcome. The successful candidate will be able to convey research developments in Asian American studies as well as broader conceptualizations of race and ethnicity in the US to undergraduates at all levels. Duties include: teaching introductory surveys as well as advanced seminars that require directing undergraduate research; playing an active role in curriculum development; taking part in scholarly and cultural events.
