Position Summary

This position is assigned to the Planning, Research and Technology department.

Full-time, twelve-month employees receive 17 days of annual paid holidays, 15 days’ vacation yearly (with increases after 5 & 10 years) and 8 hours of sick leave per month. Assignment Responsibilities

● Researches, writes, and edits content information on District and college internet and intranet sites in a variety of formats, ensuring consistency with District standards and industry best practices.
● Ensures that websites are well designed, responsive, and properly maintained.
● Identifies ways to improve usability of websites.
● Provides programming, design support, and database integration for the web-based content management system and similar web applications through the use of relevant scripting and programming languages.
● Designs, constructs program, and implements web page templates.
● Designs, produces, modifies, and evaluates multimedia, web-based presentations, and other media applications to include audio, video, graphic, web publishing, digital photography, imagery, web design, and programming.
● Serves as a resource for faculty and staff.
● Develops and presents workshops and tutorials on the use of the web-based content management system.
● Oversees the work of temporary employees.
● Performs related duties as required.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience using programming languages common in web page development and content editing. Experience with web design and publication and application of computer-based multimedia for instructional or training purposes, including experience in using courseware, multimedia authoring systems, development and production software and equipment, digital imaging, audio, and video.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in instructional design, educational technology, instructional communications, computer information science, media communication or related fields, or an Associates degree in computer science or related discipline plus two additional years of qualifying experience.

Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.

(Experience Requirement: One year of experience is equal to 12 months of experience at a maximum of 40 hours per week. Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement. Education Requirement: 15 units are equal to six months of education; 30 units are equal to one year of education.)
