The Student Service Assistant II handles all childcare competency exams in Miami Dade and Monroe counties. This is a temporary grant-funded position. This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.

•Trains examiners, proctors, and testing staff college-wide as needed
•Ensures adherence of procedures for paper/ pencil tests
•Provides technical assistance for students and testing personnel
•Maintains an accurate inventory of test materials and test records
•Prepares test packages for all campuses
•Maintains the security and integrity of all materials distributed to Testing Departments
•Delivers child care exams to all testing sites in Miami Dade and Monroe counties
•Prepares the testing schedule for all MDC campuses, MDCPS, and Monroe county testing sites
•Prepares testing materials for delivery, reconciles testing materials, and makes copies of test booklets as needed
•Troubleshoots exams that cannot be scanned
•Conducts monthly reconciliations for all revenues collected from on-line testing payments
•Serves as proctor for competency tests in Miami Dade and Monroe Counties
•Keeps abreast of testing compliance within state regulations
•Performs other duties as assigned

•Associate’s degree (AA or AS) from an accredited college/university in a related field of study such as Early Childhood and four (4) years of clerical and/or early childhood experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Possess a current valid driver’s license
•Knowledge and understanding of training and education principles
•Possess effective interpersonal skills, customer service skills, and public relation skills
•Ability to perform basic departmental functions; such as, locating materials, answering questions, and directing clients
•Ability to work with user communities of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
•Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, and weekend assignments
•Ability to drive to testing sites in Miami Dade and Monroe counties as needed
•Ability to carry and deliver testing materials throughout Miami Dade and Monroe counties
•Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
