Basic Function

Provides assistance and information to students on college procedures, academic and testing requirements, and financial aid. Provides administrative support to the offices that make up the WO Student Services Center and its partners, including management of the division schedule and calendar. Prioritize workload to ensure timely completion of projects and smooth, efficient operation Student Services Center front desk and the campus information desk.

Duties and Responsibilities

To support an office of counselors, student services specialists, Pathways, first year advisers, the campus registrar and senior secretary. Provide assistance and information to students on college procedures, academic and testing requirements and financial aid. Prioritize workload to ensure timely completion of counseling projects and to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the center with a traffic flow of 800-2000 persons monthly.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a forward facing, customer service role OR combination of education, training or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates degree or higher in related field, (Business, Communication, Psychology, social sciences, etc.).
Prior experience in a college setting, assisting and guiding students, and experience using PeopleSoft, and Canvas software; and/or handling a busy office setting as a receptionist, office assistant, or enrollment specialist

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. • Ability to establish goals and priorities and make decisions based on program and institutional policies. • Knowledge of college programs, including financial aid, international students, admissions, testing, parking, etc and the ability to interpret and explain them. • Familiarity with People Soft Student Administration System. • Possess the flexibility and motivation to learn new systems. • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with strong customer service skills.
