Job Field The Department of Diagnostic Imaging at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, a major pediatric referral centre, invites applications from interested, qualified Radiologists for a faculty position in Pediatric Radiology, in the division of General Pediatric Radiology (expected start date of 1st August 2016 or earlier). The Department of Diagnostic Imaging has state of the art imaging equipment (new MRI machines (3T and 1.5 T), CT, CT-PET, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, modern interventional suites – including an intra-operative 3T MRI scheduled to be functional next year).

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, is a world-renowned leader in health care, research and teaching.  SickKids is a tertiary care, world-renowned facility, committed to providing excellence in care with a highly qualified, interdisciplinary, hospital-based medical staff. The Hospital has approximately 300 beds and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging performs in excess of 140,000 examinations per year.

The ideal candidate will be board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) and should have fellowship and clinical experience from a reputed institution in pediatric radiology.  Clinical experience in all aspects of general pediatric radiology, including conventional radiographs, fluoroscopic procedures, ultrasound, CT and body magnetic resonance imaging is a must. The candidate should be able to show excellence in clinical care. Focused creative professional activity and a strong research acumen will be considered favorably.  The General Pediatric Radiology Division consists of 15 radiology staff physicians. The division works collaboratively and closely with other divisions within the department (6 Neuroradiologists, 6 Vascular Interventional Radiology/IGT and 2 Nuclear Medicine physicians) and with other disciplines of medicine. The division also has dedicated cardiac radiologists and musculoskeletal radiologists. The Department has a strong educational program with approximately 15 dedicated Pediatric Fellows per year in various divisions and 4 to 6 University of Toronto Radiology Residents rotating through the department.

Faculty appointment at the University of Toronto and salary will be made commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The candidate should be eligible for an academic position at the University of Toronto preferably at the rank of Assistant Professor or above.
