Coordinates and monitors the day-to-day operations of the Graduate Studies Program for the English Department. Handles all budgetary matters for the graduate program including assistantships, payroll, abatements, stipends, fellowship funding, and travel allocations. Performs all administrative duties for the Graduate Studies Office associated with advisement, course scheduling, and student services. Coordinates all advising, scheduling, and registration needs for all English department graduate students and faculty. Maintains and updates current records for all current graduate students along with databases on GA utilization, time-to-degree, and alumni job placement.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Master’s degree in Student Services or related field, or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, initiative, efficiency, and follow through. Microsoft Office and internet skills. Highly desirable: experience with spreadsheets, web-authoring, database, and the UofSC mainframe (Banner, SSC, Data Warehouse, Peoplesoft, etc.). Familiarity with UofSC procedures and offices will be extremely helpful.
