Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Weatherhead School of Management MSM Business Analytics (MSBA) and ORSC Program Manager in coordination with Faculty and Program directors will plan and direct a wide range of activities in the Weatherhead School of Management MSM-Business Analytics and MSM ORSC programs aimed at enhancing the reputation of the program nationally and internationally. This position will create and effectively execute major MSBA and ORSC program events that bring thought leaders in analytics from the industry to interact with, and inspire our students. This position will work directly with the Program Director to develop and disseminate compelling materials that showcase students’ accomplishments over the duration of the MSBA and ORSC programs. This position will be the point person to represent student interest in innovating the MSBA and ORSC programs, and enhance industry participation in curriculum development and delivery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Work with and advise each student one-on-one to help them understand course curriculum to fulfill program requirements. Advise students on any academic related issues by utilizing professional advising and guidance skills. Interpret, advice, and guide students on all matters related to their program coursework, including but not limited to, registration, course waivers and/or substitution, and drop/add. Meet with faculty directors to provide updates and discuss changes or updates for each student curriculum. Work with companies to find mentors for students to help them with resume building and interview process. (30%)Advise each student in on the appropriate courses each semester to register that will fulfill the program requirements. Keep the registrar department informed of the courses approved for each student to meet the program requirements. Approve students’ requests to drop/add courses. (20%)Serve as primary advisor for students in both programs as well as certificate program to enhance the quality of student life, including suggest student organizations, be involved in student leadership council, and overall experience. Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors for orientation ceremony, awards dinner, advisory board events etc. (10%)Plan and schedule activities that foster relationship between the programs and industries. Act as liaison with the school’s external relations office to nurture and develop MSBA and ORSC alumni relations. Work with industries to find mentors for each students and or speakers for student organizations. Work with individual students, student leaders and organizations providing direction to enhance the student experience and provide mission-critical support of student retention. (10%)In coordination with admissions office, plan and execute post admissions and onboarding activities, part of the interview process and the final decision-making on enrolling students in both programs. (5%)In consultation with the undergraduate advisors, develop custom curriculum plans for integrated studies students. (5%)In coordination with registrar’s office, maintain academic files containing curriculum plans, course waiver information, and registration documentation. (5%)Work with International Student Services (ISS) to facilitate immigration and visa issues (including issuance of I-20 and I-20 extension) for international students. Gather all required data and documentation for I-20 extensions, which includes curriculum plans, financial aid/scholarship amounts, and tuition totals. (5%)Manage the student evaluation process to obtain regular feedback on courses and overall experience to facilitate curriculum changes and program improvement. Analyze the results to make recommendations on curriculum and program changes. (5%)Provide primary oversight for MSBA and ORSC websites and social media content. Ensure comprehensive content with timely and accurate information. Collaborate with WSOM Marketing team to maintain and manage content. (5%)

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Nurture and develop MSBA and ORSC program alumni relations. Act as a liaison with WSOM external relations office for the program graduates.Perform other duties as assigned.

CONTACTS

Department: Extensive contact with MSBA and ORSC directors, faculty and staff, as well as marketing, external relations, admissions, registrar office and career development office.

University: Regular contact with directors of administrative departments, faculty and staff, International Students Services and other as needed.

External: Regular contact with alumni, industry and corporate supporters and prospects and prospective students.

Students: Continuous interaction with students in the MSBA and ORSC programs for the benefit of recruitment and alumni development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

No staff supervisory responsibility. Will supervise graduate assistants employed in administrative work related to the program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: 3 or more years of program management in higher education or corporate experience including recruiting, training and development, and career advising.

Education/Licensing: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. Master’s degree in business or related field preferred. Computer proficiency and experience in analytics highly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

General office work environment. Requires some travel, both domestic and international. Must be available to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings.
