DescriptionThe HR Business Partner at the Health Science Campus provides multiple complex Human Resource Services for assigned client areas (orbusiness units), working with department administrators, senior leadership andother HR staff to understand and support client business objectives. The HRBPis the primary point of service and provides counsel on all HR mattersincluding but not limited to recruiting/employment, compensation, employeerelations, organizational change, performance management, and equal employmentopportunity.  Acts as key liaison for all human resource issues includingtraining, labor, payroll, benefits and HRIS for departments and areas serviced.Advises and counsels supervisors and employees on HR programs, records, forms,systems and related policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education &Experience:

BS/BA degree required. Minimum 4 years Human Resources experience, with exposure to the followingfunctional areas: recruiting/employment, compensation, employee relations,labor relations, organizational change, performance management, training anddevelopment, HR needs analysis and metrics. Must have employee relationsexperience including but not limited to: coaching managers on the resolution ofperformance issues; coaching managers on interpretation and application of HRpolicy and employment law; employee investigations; severance and terminationproceedings. An equivalent combination of education and experience

compensation, employeerelations, labor relations, organizational change, performance management,training and development, HR needs analysis and metrics. An equivalent combinationof education and experience may be considered.

 

Required Skills &Abilities:

* Demonstrated solidunderstanding of all areas of HR, including recruitment best practices,benefits, compensation and learning & development. 

* Ability to develop andmaintain strong business relationships and the demonstrated ability tocollaborate with all levels of HR and business management by building trust andcredibility.

* Proven excellent customersupport skills with demonstrated evidence of strong business acumen includingthe ability to understand the needs of the client and adjust our services inaccordance with those business needs and requirements.

* Demonstrated experienceworking with and providing consultation to Senior Management as a businesspartner on strategic and tactical HR related business issues and to workeffectively in a complex matrixed environment. 

* Excellent communicationskills and the ability to negotiate and influence others. 

* Must have proven strongpresentation skills and presence. 

* Excellent analytical andproblem solving skills as well as a strong customer focus. 

* Ability to synthesizecomplex or diverse information using intuition and experience to complementdata.

* Strong project managementand change management skills.

* Ability to workindependently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

* Collaboration skills andability to work as a member of a team across all levels of HR.

* Strong time management andpriorities management skills.

* Strong employment/labor lawknowledge and ability to stay abreast of changing laws and regulations.

 

Preferred:

* Advanced degree or HRcertification

* Substantive compensationexperience or certification. 

* Experience in laborrelations (grievances, arbitrations, understanding of CBA, etc).

* Experience managing staff.
