Assistant Director, Graduate Business Programs

Job Description and Summary:

The Miami Business School is seeking an Assistant Director for Graduate Business Programs. This position requires management of graduate business programs, including full-time masters and/or executive MBA programs. Duties include the delivery and oversight of program operations as it relates to degree requirements, academic performance, advising and registration.  Special events related to these programs, include student onboarding and orientation, international trips and commencement. 

Core Job Functions:   

  • Contributes ideas and viewpoints to the Director of Graduate Business Programs and the Vice Dean on operational and strategic plans for the GBP programs/events.
  • Manages and exercises responsibility and accountability for the administrative budget and operational forecasts.
  • Monitors budget and identifies opportunities for minimizing cost and ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Makes daily independent decisions to ensure department objectives are met and that University and School policies and procedures are followed.
  • Manages and coordinates the activities of assigned staff and student assistants to verify high-level performance, achievement of goals and quality of results.
  • Ensures staff and student employees are trained, developed and empowered to effectively perform their roles.
  • Develops goals and objectives for staff and student workers.
  • Supervises and coordinates the planning and organization of special events.
  • Evaluates student academic performance and recommend appropriate action for program continuance on a term basis.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required Master’s degree preferred in related business field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' program administration and/or managerial experience.
  • Preferred experience in higher education administration but not required.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certifications and/or work experience will be considered.
