The University of Denver is seeking nominations and applications for an experienced, driven, and passionate leader to join our advancement team as the Executive Director of Development serving the Daniels College of Business. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to join a dynamic, growing and purposeful enterprise united around a compelling mission charted by Chancellor Jeremy Haefner and Dean Vivek Choudhury. The Executive Director will work with a community of talented professionals united to advance this mission, representing the bold ideas of our faculty to inspire philanthropy and engagement.

Dean Vivek Choudhury joined the Daniels College of Business on August 1, 2019, bringing with him a vision for significantly deepening relationships with the dynamic business community in the Rocky Mountain region. An innovative leader, Dean Choudhury has a great appreciation for the shifting landscape of business education and how it needs to evolve to address the changing needs of the business world. With a background in information systems, Dean Choudhury has earned the highest regard among his peers for his ideas about preparing students to be effective in our emerging technology-driven world.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience (Veterans with equivalent combination of military certification/education and experience may substitute for the degree qualification).
  • 7 years of paid fundraising experience, working within the full spectrum of development, including cultivation, gift solicitations, stewardship, and donor recognition.
  • 3 years of direct management/supervisory experience.
  • Experience fundraising within a university setting or similarly complex non-profit setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree, preferably MBA or other business degree.
  • Experience fundraising for a AACSB accredited business school.
  • Experience directly staffing a dean (or equivalent unit-specific leader) in a complex organization.
  • Experience directly managing and inspiring high-performing professional fundraisers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to business education.

Salary Range:
Salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
