Coordinator - Laboratory

Job description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating and instructing laboratory classes for the division of Science at Georgia Highlands College with the primary location being at the Cartersville Campus.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs laboratories in the division of Natural Science
  • Coordinates the procurement of necessary supplies for all campus locations
  • Assists the laboratory manager in the management of the laboratory supply budget
  • Coordinates field trips to wetlands area/laboratories in conjunction with campus out reach program
  • Maintains laboratory equipment
  • Performs related duties

Required Qualifications

  •  Baccalaureate degree in related field
  • 1-2 years of related experience
  •  Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

Proposed Salary

$36,470 annually

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of specific course content adequate enough to instruct laboratories within the science discipline
  • Knowledge of the maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment
  • Knowledge of computers and jobrelated software programs
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques
  • Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions
  • Skill in oral and written communication
