Position Responsibilities

The Biology Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position beginning in the Fall of 2020. Rank and salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:
We seek a candidate who will develop a basic research program in which undergraduates can collaborate. The research may include a focus on organ systems, metabolism, or longevity and aging. Research approaches — whether molecular, cellular, and/or whole animal systems —should have the potential to improve our understanding of human biology. We value the use of interactive and inclusive pedagogies and seek applicants with demonstrated success in working with diverse student populations. Courses to be taught are Human Anatomy and Physiology, upper level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, and involvement in the Foundations in Biology sequence. There also will be opportunities to teach the University’s multidisciplinary CORE courses and honors seminars.

Position Qualifications

Required qualifications: Doctoral degree in Biology with expertise in anatomy and physiology and demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level in both class and laboratory formats is required. Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
