    PURPOSE

    Under the direction of the Vice President of Clinical Operations (VPCO), the Service and Outreach Coordinator oversees the various outreach events and service opportunities for the interns at Life Chiropractic College West. These include local outreach for the sake of sharing the chiropractic message and building the Health Center practice via interns, Service trips both locally (Mission Trip America (MTA)) and abroad in other countries. The coordinator oversees the organization, tactical and technical details arranges for functions and insures they are staffed both locally and abroad.

    The coordinator will also learn the functions of the preceptor program ensuring depth, support and continued function of the program in the absence of the preceptor coordinator (EA to the VPCO). The EA and the service and outreach coordinator work together to ensure that both functions, service to the community, profession and LCCW interns is uninterrupted and performed at high standards.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Creates and maintains policy and procedures for the outreach department and service trips.

    2. Organizes a calendar and schedule of college supported outreach events.

    3. Organizes event and promotes events ensuring that each is staffed by interns.

    4. Assists interns in the development of their own outreach events.

    5. Ensures that all events are scheduled, performed and run in compliance with college policy and local and federal laws and regulations.

    6. Organizes, schedules and oversees service trips per college policy and strategic plan including:

    • Recruitment of interns and doctors (faculty), arranging travel (flights, hotels, etc.) for various trips and events, ensuring that participants qualify for travel to the intended destination and have the required information and assistance to receive visa, licenses and other needed documents for the travel to and from the events.

    1. Assists the VPCO in their duties related to the organization and implementation of service trips and opportunities both locally and abroad.

    2. Will also provide assistance as needed to the Director of HC Compliance and Data Architecture to develop and produce needed reports including distribution of reports and data.

    3. Accurately compiles and completes reports.

    4. Effectively composes, transcribes and edits confidential correspondence and documents in accordance with established College and Health Center policies and procedures.

    5. Provides prompt and courteous assistance to customers (both internal and external) in the interpretation and clarification of College and Health Center policies and procedures, and serves as a liaison between administrative officers, clerical staff, patients, visitors, other campus constituents, etc.

    6. Exercises initiative and judgment in responding to problems or complaints promptly; courteously and in accordance with established policies and procedures, or if unable or promptly refers to the appropriate party or department to ensure problem resolution.

    7. Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters and other documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database or presentation software.

    8. Handle confidential information.

    9. Plan, organize and coordinate the administrative aspects of the executive’s office functions related to outreach and service including reports, budget reconciliations, purchase orders, department organizational charts.

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

    • Assignment typically requires a detailed knowledge of organization’s operations, organizational procedures, and personnel

    • Demonstrate ability and temperament to work with sensitive information

    • Demonstrate interpersonal skills and proficiency in business vocabulary to effectively represent the executive and the company to outside parties

    • Work requires a business/office management background generally equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a business or secretarial-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in the operation and use of personal computers utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and database management software programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Access and Outlook), internet access, etc.

    • Understanding of, sensitivity to and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of students, faculty, staff and the community.

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    1. Able to spend long hours sitting, standing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
