The University of Washington's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Clinical and Neuropsychology, invites applications for a full-time 12-month psychology faculty position without tenure at the level of Assistant Professor in the Clinician Educator Track. The ideal start date for the position will be on or around March 1, 2020.

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, ranked #5 in US News & World Report, is a complex academic and clinical department in the University of Washington School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals, which include the UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, VA Puget Sound Healthcare System, Northwest Hospital, and Seattle Children’s Hospital. The Department has Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Prosthetics & Orthotics, Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychology, and Vocational Rehabilitation units, as well as graduate degree programs. The department holds $19 million in grants from federal and foundation funding sources.

The psychologist will be stationed in the Rehabilitation Care Service at VA Puget Sound Health Care System with responsibilities at both the Seattle and American Lake (Lakewood, WA) campuses. Duties will include the provision of clinical and consultative services (assessment and intervention) in person and via telehealth to 1) the Blind Rehabilitation Program at American Lake and 2) inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs based in Seattle and American Lake. This position has a special emphasis on the development and delivery of tele-mental health services to rehabilitation populations. Weekly travel to both facilities (an approximately one-hour commute time each way) is required.

Educational responsibilities include clinical supervision as part of predoctoral internship and postdoctoral training programs, as well as the development and implementation of telehealth educational initiatives specific to rehabilitation psychology.

Contribution to ongoing research programs at a level commensurate with the role of a Co-Investigator, as well as scholarly productivity consistent with the expectations of the Clinician Educator Track, is also expected.

Qualifications:

This position requires a PhD/PsyD (or foreign equivalent degree) in clinical psychology, as well as an APA-accredited predoctoral internship and a postdoctoral fellowship with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Psychology and/or Neuropsychology. Applicants should have current licensure, or be immediately license-eligible, in Clinical Psychology in the state of Washington. Successful applicants will demonstrate a track record (consistent with experience) of teaching, scholarship (e.g., peer-reviewed publications), and clinical excellence. Experience with Veterans, blind rehabilitation, and/or assessment and intervention via telehealth are all highly desired. Early career applicants are encouraged to apply.
