Description:

The University of Washington, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Developmental Medicine invites applications for a position as a faculty member on the full time clinical faculty track at the Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank. Academic rank at the time of appointment will depend on experience and qualifications. This is a 12-month service period. Anticipated start date is Summer 2020.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate within and across disciplines in clinical and teaching activities.

Clinical sites will include Seattle Children's Hospital, the University of Washington and outreach clinics throughout Washington State and Alaska, utilizing a blend of independent, inter and multi-disciplinary evaluations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate exemplary clinical care that is evidence based, compassionate and family centered. They will be expected to formulate both inpatient and outpatient diagnostic impressions, develop ongoing management plans, coordinate care across different practice sites and promote community partnerships for infants, children and adolescents and their families from varied cultural profiles.
They will collaborate with faculty and staff at Seattle Children’s Hospital to develop innovative service models for children with complex developmental disabilities.
Their professional skills will emphasize interdisciplinary collaboration, partnership building, and advocacy for the children and families served in this program.
They will precept pediatric and other trainees at all levels in clinic and inpatient service.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.


Qualifications:

They must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy; be board-certified in Pediatrics; board-certified or board-eligible in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (or foreign equivalent) and be qualified for an appointment to the faculty at the University of Washington.

Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington (or must be licensed in another jurisdiction and be eligible for licensure in Washington).

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
