Provides administrative and processing support to the Front Office of the Registrar; Greets students and visitors, manages the front desk, answers the Office of the Registrar phone line and email account; Manages office inventory, supplies, forms, contracts, etc. Performs actions related to office budget; purchases requisitions, purchase orders, travel schedules and reservations; Compose, review and/or sends correspondence on behalf of the Registrar and Assoc Registrar. Exercises broad professional judgment related to the development and publication of registration materials. Assists with the maintenance of the office calendar. Advertises, interviews, hires and supervises student workers. Provides general administrative and processing support for other office staff and performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position

Microsoft Office; knowledge of Access, Excel, Word and Outlook are required. Expertise or the ability to gain expertise in student information systems and knowledge of data extraction techniques are essential. The use of email as a means of communication and reporting; word processing abilities to create letters; editing and proofreading skills; excellent written and oral communication skills are essential to coordinate activities within the unit.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to those with two year degree and two or more years work experience in higher education in a student services unit and to those with some budget experience.
