The Administrative Associate for Biology and Marine Biology Department provides general office support, serves as the receptionist and assists the department chair. This position:
• Processes travel arrangements and requests
• Completes all paperwork involved in departmental travel for classroom field trips, conferences, seminars, etc. using both general funds and grant funds
• Prepares and maintains all department publications: newsletter, brochure, seminar flyers
• Reports to the Administrative Specialist for the Biology and Marine Biology Department

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position

Strong organizational skills

Possess a high degree of accuracy and excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to perform in an environment often filled with frequent interruptions

Preferred education, professional skills and experience

Experience with MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Pagemaker

Familiarity with University programs: AiM, Banner, Chrome River Travel and Expense system, PeopleAdmin, uShop, and Works

Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position
