Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

The Center for Family Research is seeking a Phlebotomist to conduct blood draws for the Family and Community Health Study (FACHS). Responsibilities will include traveling to participants’ homes in Northeast and Central Georgia to obtain participant informed consent, conducting a venipuncture, spinning blood and aliquoting collected blood samples and collecting data on other health indicators, height, and weight. This position will also administer a self-report measure during the home visit. Other responsibilities will include returning the data to the Center for Family Research for proper storage and packing.

Candidate must have flexible availability and be able to work 10 to 19 hours per week. Candidates must have reliable transportation; traveling between counties will be required.

Travel to participants’ homes to obtain participant informed consent, conducting a venipuncture, must have experience with using centrifuge and spinning blood, aliquoting collected blood samples and collecting data on other health indicators, height, and weight.

Attend mandatory training during which the background of the project, goals of the research, and the curricula will be presented. Also attend mandatory lab training. (Phlebotomists are compensated for training)
