Labor Relations Representative 3 Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 201910017022 Full Time 8AM - 5PM Commensurate with Experience Position Information The Labor Relations Specialist is responsible for representing the University at the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, meet and confer sessions with union representatives regarding issues that arise pursuant to the University's collective bargaining agreements and contract administration and implementation. This position supports the Director of Labor Relations, and Labor Relations staff in the development and implementation of labor relations data analyses and data collection tools, reports, boilerplate and/or templates; participate in arbitration; provide analytical assistance to management at all levels of the grievance process; interpret collective bargaining agreements; research issues relevant to contract interpretation/administration; develop resources and training materials for campus management; and manage the processes and compliance activities associated with HEERA-required notices, information practices, and grievances. **Please note: This position is designated as a Career Ladder recruitment, which means the hiring department can recruit and fill this role at different levels within the position classification series. Minimum Requirements Knowledgeable regarding labor/employment law and the principles and techniques of labor negotiations.
Possesses strong analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle very difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively.
Able to apply effective bargaining strategies in order to ensure successful outcome for all parties.
Demonstrates skills necessary to bargain and represent the organization's interests effectively.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
Position may require specialized knowledge within labor relations field.
Has knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and court decisions regarding employment related matters.
In-depth knowledge of the principles of advocacy in order to represent the organization in various dispute forums.
