Job Details
Responsible for providing library circulation services to students, faculty, staff, and community patrons.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for providing circulation services in-person, by telephone, and by email to library patrons; assisting patrons in locating and using research materials and course reserves, and providing basic technology assistance and instruction to patrons. Performs circulation desk transactions; loans, returns, and hold requests. Shelves library materials, shelf reads for accuracy, and shifts collections when needed.
Minimum QualificationsAssociate’s degree or the equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
Customer service experience
Basic computer skills
Working knowledge of integrated library systems including Alma, Library of Congress Classification, and Microsoft Office suite.
Experience in a community college and/or academic library.
Experience providing circulation services.
Ability to work evenings 4pm-8pm Monday-Thursday with additional hours as needed.
Knowledge of library procedures.
Ability to navigate library systems: Library of Congress Classification system, online library cataloging system, and subscription databases.
Ability to navigate content management systems.
Ability to communicate effectively and work independently.
Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
Relevant library and/or appropriate customer service experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer and printing troubleshooting.
