Fellowship activities will include the following depending on time and goals to be worked out with the fellowship directors:

–Coursework in the School of Public Health or other relevant UNC-Chapel Hill departments.
–Attendance at one of the Responsible Conduct of Research courses offered by the NC TraCS Institute.
–Attendance at the fall semester course, Principles and Practices of Alternative and Complementary Medicine Course.
–Attendance at selected local seminars/conferences/courses.
–Participation in a research project with Drs. Mann, Gaylord, Faurot, or other UNC faculty.
–Development of an original area of research relating to complementary and alternative medicine.
–Meeting with the Fellowship Director(s) approximately every 2 weeks.
–Meeting with T-32 Fellows Work-in-Progress Weekly Seminar.
–Presentation of your research progress and results to groups of interested individuals.
–A goal of submitting 3 manuscripts per year to peer-reviewed journals.
–Completion of a brief written report to the Fellowship Co-directors/Advisory Committee on progress toward goals.

Educational Requirements

Applicants must possess a MD, PhD, DO, DC, DOM, PharmD, ND, DPT, DNP

Qualifications and Experience

Demonstrated previous research experience relating to complementary and alternative medicine is preferred, but not required.
