EARLY MODERN EUROPEAN HISTORY: The Department of History at the College of Charleston invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the field of early modern European history, excluding Germany. We especially welcome applications from scholars with digital history skills. Candidates must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. in History by August 2020. In addition to upper-level and graduate courses in European History, the successful candidate will be expected to teach the department’s thematic general education courses.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Department of History graduate program and have the opportunity to affiliate with interdisciplinary programs on campus.

Candidates must have a firm commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts and sciences environment. Promise of excellence in teaching and research are required; teaching experience and publications are preferred. Initial interviews of selected applicants will be conducted via Skype.
