The Sr. Classroom Assistant will help provide care and support for a small classroom of children under the supervision of a teacher. A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Prior work in a structured educational setting with very young children, or children with disabilities, is preferred. Successful candidates must be willing to obtain required First Aid and CPR training and Department of Children and Families initial 30 hours training for childcare workers within 90 days of starting in this position.
The work location for this position is on the Miller School of Medicine campus.
- Support teacher in planning, organizing, and implementing classroom routine
- Be familiar with curriculum and related materials used in classroom
- Monitor the health and safety of children enrolled in program
- Participate in in-service training and parent training activities
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Note: The physical requirements of this position include sitting on the floor with children, lifting and carrying toddlers, and prolonged standing.
