The Writer assists the department in gathering information, writing, and editing content of university materials. The writer will analyze, simplify, write, and design well-organized, high-quality, error-free content in both hard-copy and online formats to best meet the needs of both internal and external audiences. Proofread and fact-check documents prior to its publishing and advise management of any identified corrections where any.
Works closely with support staff to develop and maintain identify, index, and link current information concerning the university to resources and tools accurately.
• Interviews subject matter experts in order to create content that guides users through administrative processes.
• Monitors website performance and coordinates analysis to meet audience needs while

maintaining ease of navigation for users.
• Assists in placing stories in University media fact-checking all information and securing approval prior to publication.
• Monitors University of Miami research news in external press.
• Prepares regular reports on award activity and web usage trends.
Performs related duties as assigned such as, writing and editing letters, memos, reports, forms and presentations.
