Position Description:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, serve as Financial Analyst in the central administrative office of Early Care and Education (ECE). ECE operates three child care centers serving 340 children, with 200 employees, and an annual expenditure of $8 million including sales and service, state, and private contract/grant funding sources. Primary responsibilities include: ensure the proper completion of eligibility processing for California Department of Education (CDE) subsidized child care funding. Reconcile general ledgers to assure accuracy and compliance with University policy. Produce monthly enrollment reports to the Executive Director with concise analysis of data. Support the Executive Director by maintaining a complex calendar and a system to establish and follow efficient timelines and priorities. Work in coordination with the Executive Director and other administrative staff to comply with State and Federal regulations, University policy, and Graduate School of Education and Information Studies (GSE&IS) guidelines. The Financial Analyst acts as the liaison between ECE, Travel & Entertainment (T&E) and Travel Accounting to ensure proper accounting of card transactions and daily tuition deposits; analyze and develop policies and procedures to improve efficiency and coordinate with changing University policies. Determine and implement appropriate charges and adjustments directly affecting the financial system. Prepare financial information and special reports for the Executive Director.
