The Office of the Bursar is seeing applications for the position of Manager of Financial Services, UCP 8 to serve as a Billing Manager. Under the general direction of the Associate Bursar, the Billing manager manages the unique bursar function and administers the creation and maintenance of student billing for the University in accordance with applicable procedures, statutes, regulations and policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Current UConn or UConn Health employee.
2. Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field.
3. At least five years’ professional experience in a regulatory environment with a demonstrated progression of managerial responsibility.
4. Knowledge of the regulations and policies governing University billing
5. Ability to read, analyze, and implement regulatory policy and related procedures.
6. Demonstrated ability in leadership and organizational skills.
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills and decision-making ability.
8. Ability to analyze administrative and operational issues and implement solutions to problems.
9. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public, University community and external constituencies.
10. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individual and groups.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Previous experience in a university or college setting.
2. Knowledge of KFS, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office products.
3. Ability to interpret policies and procedures.
4. Experience dealing with customer clients and providing quality customer service.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This is a permanent full-time position. Salary will commensurate with training and experience.
