Compensation: Starting salary is $93,995.79 per the Santa Fe College Salary Schedule. Promotional placement is not limited to the posted salary range maximum. Compensation package is comprised of many college paid benefits including health and life insurance, retirement, leave time, and tuition waivers for Santa Fe College and the University of Florida.

Description:

Santa Fe College invites applications for the position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs (Career and Technical Education). The AVP reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and serves as part of the Academic Affairs division leadership team. The AVP supervises and provides leadership for planning, management, and assessment of five academic departments offering a variety of college-credit and clock-hour programs and is the college’s point person on general (non-health sciences) workforce development. Represents the college to local and statewide CTE organizations, including the statewide Council of Workforce Education of the FCS. The position also supervises adult education, job placement, and Perkins programs, including secondary-to-postsecondary career pathways. The AVP must also possess an ability to work effectively with diverse college personnel in a shared governance environment; and embrace a culture of inquiry, evidence, and innovation.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Oversight and support for the departments of Business Programs, Construction and Technical Programs, Education Programs, Information Technology Education, and the Institute for Public Safety.

  • Oversight and support for adult education and Perkins programs.

  • Responsibility for alignment of CTE programs with workforce needs in Alachua and Bradford counties and statewide; planning and implementation of appropriate CTE programs at SF educational centers.

  • Collaboration and liaison with local Chamber of Commerce and CareerSource activities, as assigned.

  • Serve as primary author or co-author on grants development in workforce-oriented areas.

  • Provide leadership relating to industry certifications and credit for prior work experience.

  • Teach at least one course every two years in an academic area within the CTE programs.

  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Vice President, Academic Affairs

Qualifications:

Required: A Master’s degree or higher in an appropriate discipline.

Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.

Preferred: An earned doctorate degree. Candidates with teaching and/or supervisory experience in one or more of the College’s career and technical education programs. Experience and understanding of current issues in higher education, especially within the context of career and professional education within the state of Florida.
