Position Summary

Process student account payments. Handle cash for campus retail operations and other campus department needs, prepare daily bank deposits, perform daily cashier bank reconciliation, and complete Oracle journal entries for all retail operations on campus.

  • Perform data entry and payment processing for student accounts as outlined in the Bursar Procedures Manual. Receive and receipt payments including cash, credit cards, personal checks, outside scholarship checks, 529 check payments, and wire transfers; verify and apply to appropriate student accounts.
  • Prepare bank deposits, and reconcile cashier session of total daily cash, check, and credit card receipts. File appropriate payment documentation in College’s permanent records per policy.
  • Assist staff, students from all programs, and parents during open hours of the cashier window for payment processing, cash management needs, and retail operation deposits.
  • Complete Oracle journal entries for campus retail operations and miscellaneous revenue deposits for finance business operations management.
General Responsibilities
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others and accept direction from supervisors.
  • Maintain adequate currency and coin supplies to meet daily needs for retail operations and other campus areas; point of contact for staff across campus for making change and providing cash receipts.
  • Investigate and resolve any daily cashier session out-of-balance problems.
  • Assist students and parents in the accurate application of their transactions.
  • Receipt private scholarship disbursements to students.
  • Prepare daily cash bags for campus public safety courier for bank deposit.
  • Perform specialized deposits for Finance department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education

Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Or five plus years of banking work experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must handle confidential information in a discreet manner. Data entry speed and accuracy is a must, as is attention to detail. Must have ability to adapt to various computer information systems and changing technology. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.

Experience

Prior experience in handling cash and delivering customer service. Good math and computer skills necessary. A minimum of three years of work experience in related fields, such as financial aid or finance in higher education, or banking and finance.
