Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Faculty (On-Ground)
Maryville University is seeking a dynamic colleague to join us as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Faculty member who demonstrates a commitment to teaching excellence, teamwork, and exceptional service to students and the university. This full-time, tenure track position within the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing will be responsible for teaching nurse practitioner students in the graduate program in an area commensurate with the individual’s expertise and experience. The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff and students.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Instructing the course based on provided curriculum and assisting students in achievement of course objectives;
•Moderating and guiding student interaction in course-related work groups and discussion forums;
•Scheduling and hosting office hours through use of conferencing tools, grading and providing feedback.
•Practicum course responsibilities include establishing contact with students’ preceptors, verifying student hours and assessing clinical tracking notes.
•Master’s degree in Nursing
•Currently Practicing as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
•Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, unencumbered license in home state
•Minimum two years’ practice as a PMHNP
•Minimum five years of clinical experience
•Demonstrated ability to coach and assist students in achieving their academic goals
•Exceptional oral and written communication skills
•DNP or PhD
•Experience teaching Nurse Practitioner students
•Experience using Canvas or other relevant online course delivery platform
