The Department ofPharmacology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine Anschutz MedicalCampus is seeking applicants to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Professorlevel in the area ofneuroscience/neurotechnology with afocus on candidates developing and/or leveraging novel optical imaging tools andmethods to understand nervous system function. The research of theapplicant should emphasize molecular, cellular and circuit mechanisms that arebroadly related to understanding human nervous system diseases and/or theactions of existing drugs or the development of new drugs and therapies totreat neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. In particular, we seek applicants whoseresearch would complement our existing strengths in neuropharmacology studying regulation of neurotransmitter receptors,ion channels, cell adhesion molecules, kinase and phosphatase signaltransduction, and gene expression in control of neuronal function in normal learningand memory, as well as in neurodegeneration, ischemic brain injury, intellectualdisability, schizophrenia, autism, and addiction.

One of the central missions of the NTCis to recruit faculty whose research is focused on developing, adapting, andimplementing novel technologies to study nervous system function (both basicand translational). In this search we arein particular seeking applicants who use and develop novel molecular andcellular imaging methods, tools and approaches, including optical sensors and probes, to study nervous systemfunction in vitro, ex vivo and/or in vivo.
We encourageapplications from individuals who would thrive in a collaborative and interdisciplinaryscientific environment that also includes cancer research, structural biology, epigenetics,and bioinformatics.
