Responsible for design, development, implementation, and maintenance of databases; evaluates existing systems and identifies database requirements for proposed systems; defines database physical structure, functional capabilities, security, data back-up, and recovery specifications.

Supports new and existing servers and configures applications, hardware, operating systems, services, settings, storage, etc. in accordance with security standards and project/operational requirements to ensure high availability and fault tolerance. Examines impacts of new technologies on the department’s overall information security.

Reviews and assesses security of existing applications, systems, and processes. Researches potential security concerns and coordinates with managers of other teams and members to plan and implement security efforts. Applies security mitigation and remediation solutions.

Optimizes the performance and reliability of web application hosting systems by analyzing their performance, resolving various issues, and tuning the application parameters as needed. This includes troubleshooting, researching errors, and applying appropriate reconfigurations or patches/fixes as necessary.

Monitors and review PCI DSS requirements to ensure departmental compliance. Identifies current and future needs to ensure technology supports the department. Provides end-user support as needed.Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalency and six years of experience.

(Note: or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Knowledge and experience with SQL Server administration.

Experience working with Windows Server and experience administering Active Directory and Hyper-V.

Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Experience leading projects to completion.

Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within the technology field, including HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, ColdFusion CFML, & SQL.Preferred Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other related degree.

Knowledge and experience with ColdFusion development and administration.

Knowledge and experience configuring and maintaining web application firewalls.

Knowledge of computer network and information technology security measures.Pay Plan This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.Soft Money Funded Position This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.Criminal Background Check This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.
