Participates as needed in the creation, compilation, consolidation and maintenance of a medical records filing system to include but not limited to scanning records into Electronic Medical Record, death notices, mental health course drop/withdrawal MD live records, interface reconciliation of labs etc. to ensure accuracy of information. Route documents as appropriate for review. Participate in maintenance of records for contingency plan operations.
Assists in processing of subpoenas in accordance with State, Federal, University and UHS requirements and standards.
Processes Authorization for Medical Records Release requests in accordance with all State Federal, University and UHS guidelines. Assist in archiving and retrieval of medical records in accordance with all State, Federal, University and UHS guidelines. Sort and route incoming and outgoing mail in accordance with all policies and procedures. Answering inquires via telephone or in person interpreting and defining policies and procedures to parents, students and university department. Routinely makes rounds to all assigned areas of University Health Services to gather all medical record related material for inclusion in patient records. Assist in verification of visits following all with State, Federal, University and UHS requirements and standards. Participate on committees and performs special projects. Other related duties as assigned.Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience.

Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
