Position Summary

The Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy is seeking an outstanding candidate to join our faculty to provide leadership in clinical practice, teaching and scholarly activity. The position is a non-tenure track appointment at the rank of clinical assistant, associate, or full professor.

The primary duties of this position will be to develop and maintain excellence in didactic and experiential teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with rank and experience. Development of a clinical practice teaching site to train Doctor of Pharmacy students and residents is required. There are excellent opportunities in the areas of oncology, internal medicine, and psychiatry. However, other areas of ambulatory and inpatient care will be considered. Active participation in the graduate residency program (PGY1&2) and contributing to the teaching and scholarship missions of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy are expected.

Albany, GA is the healthcare and education center of Southwest Georgia. Located in Albany, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital (PPMH) is the premier not-for-profit healthcare system serving the citizens of Southwest Georgia. Through its partnerships with the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy and Medical College of Georgia, the regional PPMH Health Science Campus leads pharmacy and medical education and residency training. The health-system includes a 460-bed acute care hospital, Cancer and Heart Centers, Albany Area Primary Health Care, Family Medicine, and Pediatrics. Albany is located in the heart of Georgia’s scenic southwest region approximately 50 miles from the Georgia-Alabama border and is within an easy drive to Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must hold a Pharm.D. degree. Candidates must have a current license or demonstrate the ability to become licensed to practice in the state of Georgia.

The successful candidate will have one year of residency or post-doctoral training. Specialty or PGY-2 residency training and board certification are preferred.
