Preferred QualificationsPosition Summary

This position will ensure the stable operation of Terry College’s Executive Education Center (Atlanta) and provide support to the Athens Campus. This role is comprised of providing faculty-staff support for eLC as well as managing Terry classroom technology and ensuring the success of various meetings, academic programs, and special events.

Customer service must be a personal core principle to achieve success in this environment. Interpersonal skills, in addition to technical skills, are essential. The ideal candidate will be someone who is a polished professional with a great attitude and strong communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Proficient technical skills at a depth and scope necessary to address complex problems. This will require a proficient, working knowledge of technologies and processes within the following areas:

  • Analytic and planning skills to effectively build and execute complex processes
  • Logical reasoning for building complex data queries
  • Organizational/relationship skills needed for supporting and providing end-user training
  • Experience supporting common end-user operating systems (Windows XP, Windows 7, Macintosh) as well as antivirus, spyware/malware, and MS Office applications
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to manage and address competing priorities
  • Good interpersonal skills; gets along well with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms
  • Knowledge of web, Web 2.0, and instructional design best practices and processes

Instructional Support
•Provide eLC (D2L Brightspace) and UGA third-party approved integrations consultation and support
•Support faculty & staff use of AV/IT
•Maintain full awareness of courses, schedules, and faculty to better anticipate and respond to support needs
•Produce operation and troubleshooting guides for Terry spaces (e.g. classroom, conference & team rooms, and labs)
•Install, service and support desktop and classroom AV systems
•Maintain responsible use of hardware, software, peripheral equipment, tools and test equipment
•Train faculty, staff, and students on effective and efficient technology usage
•Support standardized software installation, including training and troubleshooting

Event Support
•Provide support for guest speakers and video conferences
•Produce and edit original media for use with the Web, CD, DVD, and other delivery modes, using appropriate development and editing tools and design criteria; convert a wide variety of formatted materials into appropriate digital formats

•Work collaboratively and effectively with internal and external staff, faculty, administrative clients, and other instructional development and IT professionals
•Provide technology support to faculty, staff, students, and guests; listen patiently and empathetically to customers in person, via phone and by email; then, provide solutions or alternatives to quickly return the customer to productivity
•Troubleshoot and support Windows OS and Mac OS as well as Microsoft Office and Adobe products
•Create and maintain documentation for work, processes, and problem resolutions
•Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
