Principle responsibilities include managing and investigating cases for alleged violations of university policies, assisting with investigations for higher level or alleged group violations, working to identify restorative resolutions for conduct-related cases as appropriate, developing/implementing targeted educational outreach efforts in conjunction with the Case Management team, participating in staff-wide case meetings, and database management of file sharing cases. Duties related to case management include, but are not limited to: managing case-related scheduling and other communications with students and relevant staff and faculty, investigating allegations as appropriate, maintaining appropriate records and overseeing cases to completion. Duties related to educational outreach include, but are not limited to, working with staff to identify, develop and implement targeted educational outreach efforts that meet the specific and broad needs of the Penn community. Duties related to database management of file sharing cases include, but are not limited to, reviewing monthly reports from campus partners, managing all communications and educational follow up with identified students, and maintaining a tracking database for related cases.Job Description
Duties:
Interview accused students, complainants and witnesses to resolve allegations of academic and other misconduct by graduate and undergraduate students.
Draft all documents essential to resolution of cases including notice letters, resolution agreements and charge letters.
Work with the OSC Team to outline appropriate communications and involvement of university resources.
Work with the OSC Team to educate students and their representatives (e.g., conduct and academic advisors, parents and legal counsel) regarding resolution.
Represent Penn in formal disciplinary hearings.
Act as liaison to assigned programs/schools by developing relationships with key partners, acting as consultant regarding potential cases, and facilitating case referrals.
Working with assigned programs/schools, identify, develop and implement targeted and broad educational outreach efforts.
Participate in development and on-going review protocols, policies and practices.
Manage file sharing database and educational sanctions; run reports.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
BA/BS with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in case management/investigation/interviewing. Experience in student services or human resources preferred; experience in higher education preferred. Experience with databases, specifically managing and organizing information in a timely fashion. Demonstrated strong people skills, organizational skills and ability to work on a team; a general understanding of higher education policies and practices preferred.
