This position is in the Department of Radiology, UW - Madison School of Medicine and Public Health and is responsible for the computer needs of the clinical and research faculty, academic staff, researchers, clinical staff and administrative staff. The department collaborates with numerous external IT groups including those of other UW School of Medicine and Public Health IT departments, UW Health Information Services and the UW-Madison Department of Information Technology (DoIT).
This position will report to the IT Manager and take direction from the Medical Director of Radiology Informatics and the Vice Chair of Informatics.

Bachelor's degree required.Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Experience supporting information technology in a help desk environment with a demonstrated ability to work with a variety of people, platforms and duties is required.
Thorough understanding of operating systems, especially Mac OS X and Windows, office productivity suites, and web browsers is required. Thorough understanding of most common hardware configurations required. Experience with mobile devices using iOS and Android strongly preferred.
Minimum 2 years' experience in a technology desktop support environment strongly preferred.
Experience in a health care setting and/or academic medical center preferred.
The successful candidate will have prior experience with a variety of software and hardware, will have the flexibility to learn and grow from exposure to new challenges, and will be able to interact successfully with a broad range of team members, users, abilities, and needs in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Experience with desktop automated imaging systems, remote hardware and software management, and centralized inventory and software update tools strongly preferred.
Experience with user education and training, and creating support documentation preferred.
Experience delivering excellent customer service and support is also required.
Prefix determined by years of relevant work experience. A minimum of seven years? experience required for appointment at the senior level.
A criminal and/or caregiver background check will be conducted.
Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines required.
Candidate must also have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively discuss highly technical concepts with non-technical project stakeholders, and be able to translate to and from stakeholders' needs and technical project specifications.
May supervise other help desk staff and students depending on applicant qualifications.
