The Department of Accounting and Law in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) at the University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Accounting. This is a full-time, tenure-track position, and an opportunity to join a group of colleagues committed to excellence in accounting education. Our students are highly regarded by employers. We have an award winning chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, and faculty and students engage in outreach to the community through our VITA program.

The MCCB is an AACSB accredited business school and includes the Center for Cyber Operations Education, Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and the BB&T Center for Ethical Leadership. In addition to the B.B.A., the college offers undergraduate degrees in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Technology Management, and Paralegal Studies, and three associate degrees. Graduate programs include the Cottrell M.B.A., Master of Accountancy, and three graduate certificates. The international group of teacher-scholars provides an exceptional learning community to prepare students for their professional roles and to engage with business and industry in the region to foster economic development.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to accounting education and will teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Ph.D. (or ABD) in Accounting from an institution accredited by the AACSB is required at time of hire (or the equivalent).
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to innovative learning and embrace an enthusiastic commitment to accounting education.
  • Qualified candidate must also demonstrate the ability and interest to conduct high-quality scholarly research.
  • Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as the interpersonal abilities to successfully work with students and faculty.
  • Experience teaching Intermediate Accounting, Auditing, and/or Taxation is preferred.
