Director of Student Conduct & Community Standards

Position Summary:

This position oversees a comprehensive student conduct system, utilizing best practices in the field and ensuring compliance with pertinent legislation.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports to the Dean of Students. It does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, but does indirectly supervise Resident Directors pertaining to the execution of the student conduct process.

Education Requirements:

Master’s degree required, terminal degree preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for ongoing implementation, assessment, evaluation, and development of comprehensive student conduct system and processes.Perform student conduct and Title IX meetings, compile and evaluate evidence, maintain documentation, make determinations of findings, assign and monitor educational sanctions, and communicate with individuals accordingly.Serve as student conduct trainer for Residence Life and Campus Police and maintain working relationships with a variety of individuals and offices.Provide and/or assist with education and programming for Title IX and substance use.Train an appeals board comprised of faculty, staff, and students.Conduct review of applicants with criminal history or conduct history at prior institutions.

Minimum of two to three years of related experience.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures and a commitment to inclusive excellence.Working knowledge of student conduct processes and best practices.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Objectivity and collaborative leadership style.
