About This Position

The Department of Urology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This position will focus on studying the role of nitirc oxide donors against Prostate Cancer progression to Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer by targeting tumor micro environment. For this work, various in-vitro and in-vivo models will be used.

The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.
  • Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
  • Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
  • Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in a relevant field of study or M.D. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas: cell and molecular biology, steroid-receptor biology, bioinformatics and statistics, RNAseq analysis, and some experience with urological research. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and are expected to eventually compete for national grants. We are looking for a pro-active candidate with prior expertise in working with and generating in-vitro and in-vivo models, analyzing large datasets, design experiments, take active participation in helping other lab members by working as a team. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

Patient safety is a top priority.
