Job Summary

Located in Paducah, Ky. Responsibilities include working with student advisors and recruiters to develop a recruiting message, quality recruiting materials, and a recruiting program to attract high quality students from the region served by the UK Paducah Campus, including western Kentucky and southern Illinois; communicating frequently with targeted students, returning phone calls from all prospective students, and speaking with groups concerning the College; visiting high schools in the region, giving presentations on Engineering, and presenting UK scholarships at high school honor events; coordinating local events to promote the UK Paducah Campus as an option for area students seeking an engineering education; working with UK Paducah Campus Project Lead the Way agent to coordinate the UK Paducah Engineering Day event as well as other events that expose students to the engineering field; working to enhance regional relationships with employers/schools/community/media groups and others that allow opportunities for UK Paducah to be represented; maintaining the UK Paducah website; determining eligibility for scholarships at WKCTC and UK and file appropriate paperwork; assisting students with scholarship applications; notifying Lexington personnel of scholarship eligibility, awards, etc.; maintaining KEES database to ensure appropriate and accurate awards are placed in UK Paducah students’ accounts; providing liaison services for students with KEES issues between WKCTC and UK; maintaining UK Paducah student email list serve; establishing contacts and maintaining relationships with area employers; encouraging internships and cooperative positions from area employers for Paducah students; maintaining area job availability database; assisting students with resume writing and interviewing skills; working to facilitate the admission of incoming high school freshman to UK Paducah including notifying students of admission and any required following action; tracking applications for incoming high school freshman; compiling admission data for this group of students; and working with other staff to conduct new student orientation for all students.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

MicroSoft Office particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience

Experience in Higher Education, SAP Enterprise Grade Management System and Social Media Management is preferred.
