Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

The Department of Political Science seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor. This position calls for applicants who are qualified to teach: Legislative Politics, Executive Politics, Judicial Politics, Constitutional Law, Civil Rights and Introduction to Political Science. The ability to teach research and quantitative methods is a plus. Candidates need to have a good understanding of American government because the course workload requires teaching a minimum of six credit hours each semester of the Department’s survey courses of American and Texas government. Effective teaching, commitment to service, student advising, and the potential for scholarly productivity are part of the responsibilities involved in this position.

Essential Duties Summary:

Teach Legislative Politics, Executive Politics, Judicial Politics, Constitutional Law, Civil Rights, Introduction to Political Science, research and quantitative methods and other courses as requested. Potential to publish in scholarly outlets, write grant proposals, and seek external funding. Commitment to student advising and service and performing other job-related duties as required.
