The Department of Geography at the University of North Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in August 2020. The successful candidate will be a broadly-trained geographer with a specialization in one or more of the following: GIS programming, urban planning, hazards, social justice or human-environment interactions. Applicants with the ability to teach GIS and statistics/quantitative methods courses are preferred. All faculty are expected to be able to teach introductory courses in physical, human, and world regional geography. The standard teaching load is four courses per semester and may be a combination of in person and online courses. A PhD in geography or closely related discipline is required by the employment start date in August 2020. UNA expects faculty to be enthusiastic, energetic, collegial, and student-centered, with an emphasis on teaching undergraduate students.
