Description:

The Humanities & Social Sciences Program at Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) seeks qualified individuals for its part-time Adjunct Lecturer pool and welcomes applicants at any time. The specific courses involved will vary from semester to semester; openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis depending on department teaching needs. SoPA courses may be taught at the Uptown campus, Elmwood campus, or online.

The anticipated need is for Adjunct Lecturer to teach undergraduate courses in humanities and social sciences that may include but are not limited to courses in the following areas:

  • Anthropology
  • Art History
  • Communication
  • English
  • Ethnic Studies
  • Gender and Sexuality Studies
  • History
  • Philosophy
  • Political Science
  • Religious Studies
  • Sociology
  • Urban Studies

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a humanities or social sciences field, Ph.D. preferred
  • University-level teaching experience is preferred

Sample syllabi of courses taught, teaching evaluations, and letters of recommendation are preferred but not required.
