Description

The Kinesiology Program at Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) seeks qualified individuals for its part-time Adjunct Lecturer pool and welcomes applicants at any time. The specific courses involved will vary from semester to semester; openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis depending on department teaching needs. SoPA courses may be taught at the Uptown campus, Elmwood campus, or online.

The anticipated need is for Adjunct Lecturers to teach undergraduate courses in Health & Wellness and Exercise Science and graduate courses in Health & Wellness Management and Sport Studies. Specific courses include:

  • KINE 2220: Mind and Body Health
  • KINE 2230: Stress Management
  • KINE 3120: Biomechanics
  • KINE 3130: Lifespan Motor Development
  • KINE 3650 Childhood Obesity
  • KINE 4010: Catastrophic Illness & Injury
  • KINE 4050: Mass Media and Health
  • KINE 6450: Legal & Ethical Principles in Wellness Management
  • KINE 7200: Health & Wellness Intervention Strategies
  • KINE 6520: Fundraising and Capital Development (in Sport Studies)
  • KINE 6340: Sports Nutrition

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience directly related to course offering
  • University-level teaching experience is preferred
  • Master’s degree in Kinesiology required; doctorate is preferred for Masters level courses
