Description:

The University of Washington Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics, along with the Seattle Children’s Hospital Child Protection Program, are accepting applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor (WOT) rank, on the clinician-educator track. Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a 12-month service period. Anticipated start date is Spring/Summer 2020.

This position provides clinical service and consultation in child abuse pediatrics, as well as supervision and didactic education of trainees. Clinical work includes consultation, assessment and follow-up of child physical and sexual abuse, as well as medical child abuse and cases of neglect. Legal work, including depositions and testimony, is often required. Night and weekend calls are shared with other faculty and may include supervision of a fellow.


Qualifications:

Qualified applicants must have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified or board eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated success in scholarship (including academic publication) with a focus on public policy and its impact on the detection or prevention of child maltreatment.
