Description

The Division of Surgical Oncology, Department of Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking experienced candidates for a full-time faculty appointment as an Adjunct Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities for this position include performing basic laboratory research under the direction of Dr. Timothy Donahue; training postdoctoral fellows, residents, and students in laboratory techniques; mentoring trainees on research projects; and grant writing. The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree, have completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer biology or pharmacology, and have had experience as a senior level researcher in a basic laboratory.

The ideal candidate will have experiences in molecular cloning, complex cell culture models of pancreatic cancer, biochemical analyses, high throughput screening analyses, metabolomics analyses, CRISPR gene knockout technology, inducible gene expression and shRNA knockdown systems, animal models of orthotopic and metastatic pancreatic cancer, and non-invasive whole animal imaging procedures, with a track record of peer-reviewed research publications and research funding. Additional experiences in tumor microenvironment, interferon signaling, MAPK kinase signaling, autophagy, and nucleotide metabolism are highly desirable.
